For more than 10 years, a group of Westminster women have been meeting twice a month to knit prayer shawls and other fabric comfort for anyone who needs it. They've even made little coats for oil-drenched penguins in Australia after an oil spill there. Sometimes you can see their handiwork draped over the railing at the Loaves and Fishes mission. Besides getting food, people are invited to take a warm scarf along during the cold winter. Led by Karol Kooper, this industrious group will even show you how to knit if you'd like to join. Anyone who has ever benefited from the comfort of a prayer shawl during a difficult time in life can attest to just how special this ministry is. Know someone who could benefit from a shawl? Call the office and let us know. We'll make sure you get one!
